Why Visit Seolleung & Jeongneung?
Imagine stepping from Seoul's busiest business district into a serene forest where Korean kings and queens have rested for five centuries. Seolleung and Jeongneung Royal Tombs offer exactly that — a remarkable contrast between ancient heritage and modern city life that you won't find anywhere else in the world.
What You'll Discover
This UNESCO World Heritage site houses three royal tombs from the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910):
- Seolleung — Tomb of King Seongjong (1457-1494), a beloved ruler known for promoting arts and culture
- Jeongneung — Tomb of King Jungjong (1488-1544), famous from the Korean drama Dae Jang Geum
- Royal Consort's Tomb — Final resting place of Queen Jeonghyeon

The grounds feature beautifully maintained walking paths through pine forests — perfect for a morning jog or peaceful afternoon stroll. Many locals come here for their daily exercise, offering you an authentic glimpse into Korean urban life.
